A new take on Tory

charmbracnck

So I had to push off the wine post until tomorrow morning, when we’ll all probably already be thinking about Thanksgiving eve celebrations anyway. My good friend Kathryn sent me some happy news that I couldn’t resist sharing right away.

Tory Burch, a company that used to really irk me (for no good reason, sorry Tory! – it was just from seeing too many identical Tory Burch, Barbour & J. McLaughlin-clad ladies evvvverywhere, allll the time when living on Charles Street in Beacon Hill) has WAY more than pleasantly surprised me!

The Tory Burch Foundation is donating all of the profit from these items to Accion USA, a provider of microfinance loans to businesses in the states that have solid operational plans but can’t get a traditional bank loan. I met a couple employees of the Boston-based Accion a while ago while taking Nonprofit Management at BC – what a terrific team. Find out about some small businesses that the Tory Burch Foundation has sponosored through Accion USA, here, and check out one of their websites – wow.

So pick up some Tory for a friend – for a Charles Street dweller or beyond!
