Jennifer Lopez and her little ones are stepping out for Gucci and UNICEF these days, but apparently the Gucci-UNICEF collaboration is older than her kids, at 6 years going strong.
The JLos are specifically advertising Gucci’s new 2011 kids collection and Gucci’s $1 million donation to UNICEF’s Schools for Africa program, but this season Gucci also has a bag that supports UNICEF’s Schools for Africa in Malawi and Mozambique.
Schools for Africa is a joint initiative established in 2004 by UNICEF, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and the Hamburg Society to promote education for all children in Africa – including girls, children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, and children living in extreme poverty.
Gucci’s sandy white bag isn’t in my future, but fingers crossed that they keep it up with something small and more affordable. How about a navy cloth clutch with a little of their signature bamboo?! When they do, I’ll be proud to purchase one, knowing that Gucci is a company with a long history of giving back to the world.
