Blanc Christmas

Well, it wasn’t snowy on Christmas, but this is sure making up for it! I’ve never seen our pup Blue so happy as when he was bounding through the Rhode Island woods in the snow with his buddy Wilbur, plopping himself down in the snow to watch birds, and then marching proudly into the house with snowballs on his bum.

In honor of this white post-Christmas week, today’s post is the Vie Luxe BLANC Eco-Luxe Candle, available at Saks Fifth Avenue. I was lucky enough to get a trip to Saks for my birthday a couple weeks ago, and found the candle while poking around their corporate site and social responsibility page.

The candle’s components are 100% recycled, recyclable and/or biodegradable and ten percent of the proceeds of each Blanc candle will benefit Women In Need, a nonprofit that provides housing, help and hope to New York City women and their families who are homeless and disadvantaged. Here are some of the organization’s successful women:

Get this – these candles are flying off the shelves. According to Saks, in all caps, “DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, A CUSTOMER MAY ORDER NO MORE THAN 6 UNITS OF THIS ITEM EVERY THIRTY DAYS.” They’re so popular that they are rationed! I’d better stock up for belated holiday and housewarming gifts, stat.

I hope you have a pretty white day, and enjoy some of these snowy famous house shots from a favorite blog, The Well Appointed House
