From Palm Springs to Jay Peak, It’s a (Penfolds) RED Weekend

Happy Friday! Hope you are looking forward to the snowy weekend ahead. We have to skip an outdoor holiday paddle tennis party in NJ due to the impending storm and some other persnickity things like work, but I will surely be snuggling up in New England with a fire and some vino from Penfolds’ new collaboration with Bono’s (RED).

The partnership between (RED) (which may sound familiar from a prior post) and Penfolds was just announced on Wednesday at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, but my friend Lily and I discovered the details hand-chalked onto the specials board at The (coincidentally, red) Belfry up at Jay Peak last Sunday. Way to ring out the news and live up to your name, little Belfry!

15% of the proceeds from each bottle of (Penfolds) RED Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet, Chardonnay, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon (~$12 each)…

…and Thomas Hyland Adelaide Shiraz, South Australia Cabernet Sauvignon, Adelaide Chardonnay and Adelaide Riesling (~$15)…

…go to (RED)’s partner, The Global Fund to support HIV/AIDS programs in Africa. 15% of $12 or $15 may be a little number, but think of the impact you could make by investing in a case for the winter (find it in a store near you), or… by having it as the wine of choice at your next big bash or at a wedding?!

With Penfolds’ great reputation and crisp and classic labeling, clink, clink to that!

Amazing! I am forwarding this to my dad — a longtime Penfold’s drinker — who will be very proud of himself now.

  2. Beth says:

    Cheers to that!

  3. Cheers to you for introducing us to the (apparently VERY in-the-know) Belfry!
