Stars and Stripes

Hope you all had fun weekends and enjoyed the Academy Awards last night. I can’t decide what I liked more… a spring-like Harvard lacrosse game in February, or middle school Newsies heart throb Christian Bale taking home an Oscar (’bout time).

Other good news of the weekend was the discovery of Philanthropist, a boutique in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood, where 100% of proceeds from designer clothes go to a different charity each quarter. I just might have to pick up one of the striped Marc Jacobs numbers above (can’t get enough of the brass buttons along the sleeve seam), and then daydream about these two…

Nothing more fun than a little jungle red. For your own personal awards show.

Look familiar? I’m pretty darn sure this is the Issa dress that Kate Middleton wore for the announcement of her plans to marry HRH Prince William (whom my George cousin met at St. Andrews last week).

Speaking of British royalty, I never announced the winners of the give away last week that features the crown of the hero of The King’s Speech. Lots of winners… Lily’s taking home the navy and white poster, Danielle gets the black and gold, and Brittany scored the British flag version. Please send me your addresses, and, cheers to you and Colin Firth (who also could have won back in ’97 for the original Fever Pitch, as far as I’m concerned)!
