Spring in Your Step

I got home late last night and so ended up on a dark and icy walk around the South End with Blue. It was rather gloomy until we came upon the South End Branch of the Boston Public Library and jars of cheerful bunches of daffodils in the windows. After that I walked happily along, and even spotted a little man with a big mustache peering out from inside the windows of the fire station near our house. We gave each other smiles and big waves. I felt like I was in Mr. Rodgers’ neighborhood.

Anyway, the point is… flowers! They put a spring in your step. Check out Winston’s Charity in Bloom arrangement for the month, benefitting Boston Partners In Education. Perfection.

The American Cancer Society’s Daffodil Days campaign for Massachusetts ended yesterday (darn!) but keep your eyes open for more. Daffodils are so inexpensive for the bundle of joy that they are, and are a great way to fundraise. Trader Joe‘s always has some good ones too.
