Batter Up: New Balance, The Red Sox Foundation & MGH Team Up for Vets

Today was Marathon Monday in Boston. A day full of the Red Sox, cheering on the runners, and generally just enjoying Spring in Boston. In honor of that, this post features a new New Balance collection made by the Red Sox sprite-like second basement Dustin Pedroia and Soldier Design.

5% of the price of each item will go to the Red Sox Foundation to support a Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital collaboration – the Home Base Program for veterans returning from service Iraq and Afghanistan with traumatic brain injury and combat stress.

The Red Sox and MGH collaboration goes beyond Petey’s line. If not for my sister’s wedding in PA, I’d definitely be thinking about doing The Run to Home Base – a 9k fundraising race presented by New Balance at Fenway Park on Sunday May 22nd 2011. Hard to pass up a chance to run around Fenway.
